What are Pulse Surveys?

Pulse Surveys are a short set of questions that health plans can conduct with members in regular intervals. Designed by behavioral scientists and content strategists, these surveys are a non-abrasive, low-cost method of asking members about specific healthcare topics. Pulse Surveys are much shorter than traditional mock-CAHPS or mock-HOS questionnaires and provide results in real-time to support timely interventions.

The Need for Fast, Targeted Surveys

Through Pulse Surveys, plans can quickly screen members for their healthcare needs and develop data-driven initiatives that boost scores within tight quality improvement windows. Plans in all markets can use Pulse Surveys to address:

Addressing Maternity Care with Pulses

The Prenatal and Postpartum Care (PPC) HEDIS measures evaluate health plans on their ability to close care gaps for prenatal and postpartum care visits within a limited time. As a cornerstone of CMS’ Maternal & Infant Health Care Quality initiative, these measures force care teams to act fast to improve performance within Medicaid quality programs. To address these measures, a Healthmine client incorporated Pulse Surveys in its care coordination strategy to support timely interventions in pregnant members’ lives.
